Valentine Dragons were the all-female breed given out during Valentines 2009. They are only capable of producing more Valentines during a certain period in February. However, they are breedable year-round, producing the male's breed of egg. Each scroll/account was limited to 2 CBs of this breed to prevent hoarding. Any other Valentine eggs that was obtained was automatically abandoned if picked up in the abandoned page or main cave, and after 30 minutes if bred. Though the 2-dragon limit was still in effect, these dragons were able to produce additional Valentine Dragons the week leading up to Valentine's Day 2010. Now as many bred Valentines as a user wants can be caught.
According to Marrionetta, these dragons were not a planned release. It was a spontaneous choice on the part of TJ09 to implement them and occurred roughly 15 minutes before the date rolled over to the 14th EST.
While their description gives them no official name, Marrionetta did dub them "St. Valentine's Dragons", as a "lulzy allusion" to St. George's Dragon. A more humorous name for them, Marri has remarked, could be "Thunderthighs".
Due to "Dimorphism" the sprite received an update.
When sorted by "Breed" they are listed as "Valentine 2009 dragon" on a users scroll.
Originally the Valentine Dragon, as other older Holiday Dragons like Yulebuck and Pumpkin, didn't have a Spriter's Alt variation, but in 2013 they all received it. When this was first done however, Sif was accidentally given Marrionetta's alt sprite. TJ09 has since corrected this and they now own different sprites.
