Valentine Dragons were the all-female Holiday species given out during Valentine's Day of 2009, and the first Valentine's Day dragon to be released. They are only capable of producing more Valentine eggs during a certain period when Valentine's Day is celebrated in February. They can still be bred to all year round, producing the male's breed of egg. Each scroll/account is currently limited to 2 CBs of this breed, like all other Valentine's Day dragons.

In the past, this breed was limited to 2 per scroll/account, whether bred or CB. Any other Valentine eggs that were obtained were automatically abandoned if picked up in the abandoned page or main cave, and after 30 minutes if bred. According to Marrionetta, these dragons were not a planned release. It was a spontaneous choice on the part of TJ09 to implement them and occurred roughly 15 minutes before the date rolled over to the 14th EST. While their description gives them no official name, Marrionetta did dub them "St. Valentine's Dragons", in reference to St. George's Dragon. Marrionetta has also been known to call them "Thunderthighs".

This dragon did not originally have Spriter's Alt variations as this idea was implemented later on during the release of the Snow Angels. In 2013, the spriters of this breed received their Alts, however when initially done, Sif received Marrionetta's Alt by mistake. It wasn't until a few years later that this was then corrected.

Under the old Breed sort, these dragons sorted as "Valentine 2009 Dragon" on a user's scroll. As of August 14, 2016, they now sort using their Encyclopedia name.

"This egg is speckled and very fragile."

Hatchling

"Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. It seems shy, but loves attention."

Mature Hatchling

"Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. It seems shy, but loves attention.
And look! It's grown its wings! It must be close to maturing."

Adult

"Valentine eggs are only seen once a year. Adults' mating seasons are very short, usually spanning the middle of the month of February. These dragons were once reputed to be omens of good luck in love."
