Sweetlings were the all-male Holiday species given out during Valentine's Day of 2010. They are only capable of producing more Sweetling eggs during a certain period when Valentine's Day is celebrated in February. They can still be bred to all year round, producing the female's breed of egg. Each scroll/account is currently limited to 2 CBs of this breed, like all other Valentine's Day dragons.

In the past, this breed was limited to 2 per scroll/account, whether bred or CB. Any other Sweetling eggs that were obtained were automatically abandoned if picked up in the abandoned page or main cave, and after 30 minutes if bred. During their initial release, a glitch during the early hours of the 14th caused all caught eggs to auto-abandon. As an apology, the affected scrolls were marked to receive special Alt Sweetlings. These users would hatch alternate-colored Sweetlings, with a black and red color scheme, sporting a skull and crossbones. Alt Sweetlings were designed to represent 'Singles Awareness Day,' or 'SAD'.

Unlike other Alt dragons that come in regular and alt forms, Alt Sweetlings are not true Alts. Currently, Alt Sweetlings can only be obtained if a user's scroll was affected by the auto-abandon bug, and the Sweetling's father was black Alt Sweetling. If either of these conditions is not met, it will result in a regular pink Sweetling.

Under the old Breed sort, these dragons sorted as "Valentine 2010 Dragon" on a user's scroll. As of August 14, 2016, they now sort using their Encyclopedia name.

"Sweetlings are a small, flightless breed of dragon. They are herbivores who favor sweet fruits and honey, and have been known to go to great lengths to obtain their favorite treats. Their long, prehensile tails allow them to grab onto branches and give them superior balance. Sweetlings are expressive dragons and have a large array of calls to communicate with others. They become very vocal during breeding season and sing long, beautiful melodies to attract a mate. Inquisitive in nature, Sweetlings are known to investigate anything that piques their interest, and are quick to flee if the object of their curiosity strikes back."

Trivia

During the 2011 and 2012 Valentine breeding period, certain Sweetlings bred from other Sweetlings alted. This was a glitch that was later fixed.
