Sweetlings are the all-male Valentine's Day dragon released during the Valentine's Day event of 2010. As a limited release dragon, Sweetlings are only capable of producing Sweetling eggs during a brief period before Valentine's Day is celebrated in February. They can still be bred to all year round, producing the female's breed of egg. Each scroll is limited to 2 cave-born dragons of this breed, like all other Valentine's Day dragons.

During their initial release, a bug during the early hours of the 14th caused all caught eggs to auto-abandon. As an apology, the affected scrolls were marked to receive an alternate color of Sweetling. These users would hatch Sweetlings with a black and red color scheme, with a skull and crossbones on their flank. Alt Sweetlings were designed to represent 'Singles Awareness Day,' or 'SAD'.

Currently, Alt Sweetlings can only be obtained by users who were affected by the 2010 auto-abandon bug, and only if the Sweetling's father was black alt Sweetling. If either of these conditions is not met, it will result in a regular pink Sweetling.

Under the legacy breed sort, these dragons sort as "Valentine 2010 Dragon" on a user's scroll. As of August 14, 2016, they now sort using their Encyclopedia name.

Their long, prehensile tails allow them to grab onto branches and give them superior balance. Sweetlings are expressive dragons and have a large array of calls to communicate with others. They become very vocal during breeding season and sing long, beautiful melodies to attract a mate. Inquisitive in nature, Sweetlings are known to investigate anything that piques their interest, and are quick to flee if the object of their curiosity strikes back."

Trivia

During the 2011 and 2012 Valentine breeding period, certain Sweetlings bred from other Sweetlings alted. This was a glitch that was later fixed.
