Pumpkin Dragons were released and were only available in the cave on Halloween 2009. They are rare and can only breed with Pygmies and other Pumpkins, but will only produce Pumpkin offspring during the Halloween breeding season. There isn't a limit of the number of Pumpkins you can have per scroll, as TJ09 said in their breeding official announcement: "Remember that there was no limit on these dragons, and that carries over to this year. In the words of the pumpkin dragon's creator, Christmas and Valentine's Day are about giving, but Halloween is about grabbing as much candy for yourself as you can".

They were originally called "Harvest Dragons", but with the release of the actual Harvest Dragons on the "10 on 10-10-10" release, the use of the name for the Pumpkins was abandoned.

When sorted by "Breed" they are listed as "Halloween 2009 dragon" on a users scroll.

Originally the Pumpkin Dragon, like other older Holiday Dragons (such as Yulebuck and Valentine) didn't have a Spriter's Alt variation, but in 2013 they all received one.

"Pumpkin dragons are a very small breed, named after their affinity for pumpkins. They are always found living inside hollowed-out pumpkins, and are only seen during the harvest season. Young children often hollow out and decorate their pumpkins in the hope that a Pumpkin dragon will make it his or her home."
