Omen Wyrms, or Halloween 2017 Dragons, were the Holiday species given out during Halloween of 2017. Unlike dragons of other holidays, Halloween dragons can be either male or female and do not have a scroll limit set for them. They are only capable of producing more Omen Wyrm eggs during a certain period when Halloween is celebrated in October. They can still be bred to all year round, producing their partner's breed of egg.
The lack of a scroll limit for Halloween dragons was explained during one year's event by TJ09: "In the words of the pumpkin dragon's creator, Christmas and Valentine's Day are about giving, but Halloween is about grabbing as much candy for yourself as you can".
This dragon was the first Halloween species to not be of Western morphology, and still be able to breed with other standard dragons.
Official Dragon Descriptions
Egg
"This warm egg is tangled in the roots of a dead tree."
Hatchling
"Oh look, it’s a cute baby... dragon? It’s impossible to see much of its body through all the flames."
Mature Hatchling
"Oh look, it’s a cute baby... dragon? It’s impossible to see much of its body through all the flames.
And look! It’s finally grown some sort of bizarre hide. It must be close to maturing."
Adult
"Considered heralds of ill fortune, Omen Wyrms are usually found in areas previously ravaged by disaster or strife, blending in amongst the foliage. Due to the unique appearance and texture of their bodies, they often pass as dead trees as they wait for unsuspecting prey. Their haunting cry—like that of a hollow-sounding horn—is a sure signal to run: it is always followed by the dragons’ furious wrath, which manifests in the form of fiery cascades. Escape from an Omen Wyrm is possible, however; it is said they will not dare follow their quarry across running water, no matter the cause of their vexation."
