Form changes depending on time of day:
Day: 6:00 AM EST - 6:00 PM EST
Night: 6:00 PM EST - 6:00 AM EST

Nocturne Dragons were released on January 15, 2010, alongside Canopy, Electric and Two-Finned Bluna dragons. Nocturne dragons were the first breed to have hatchling and adult sprites change between forms based upon the time of the day.

Each form lasts for 12 hours long, and the sprites constantly rotate between the two forms. The stone-like "day form" takes effect at 6am eastern time, and the lively blue "night form" can be seen at 6pm.

Official Dragon Descriptions

Egg

"This egg appears to be made of limestone."

Hatchling

"Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. You find it odd that the hatchling doesn't move at all during the day, but at night its colors change and it is full of energy."

Mature Hatchling

"Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. You find it odd that the hatchling doesn't move at all during the day, but at night its colors change and it is full of energy.
And look! It's grown its wings! It must be close to maturing."

Adult

"Nocturne dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior."

Trivia

  • Before the Dimorphism change on March 26, 2010 both genders of the Night Form appeared as the male sprite. At first, there was a glitch displaying both genders with the new female sprite, but this was quickly rectified.
  • It was said on the first Cave Cast that Nocturne dragons give each other gifts of food, shiny objects, and treasure, so they often mate for life. They are also supposed to be very good parents.
