  • Hi there! I understand that you might not like the information that is kept on the wiki, and that some of it may have been contributed by you at some point, but you need to understand that wikis are collaborative works, meaning once information is published it does not belong to anyone anymore. You also have to understand that category pages on staff and spriters are for informative purposes; they are not a personal profile that you can add or remove information at your own discretion, nor is there currently anything on that page that is defamatory in some way that justifies removal. This is the primary objective of these pages, and the wiki permits additional personal information to be added as "trivia" if it is true and published by the person themselves. I have removed any information of this nature from the category page, but the rest will remain because it is for informative purposes and is not trivia or defamatory in any way (in particular, the credit note is needed so that people are aware not to add that category to the page- it is needed for regular wiki operations). There is also no point in attempting to remove credit for an item after an event has passed as anyone can look this up in the page history- because of this, it becomes a detriment to wiki operations, so this edit has also been reverted.

Whether you agree with it or not, your current actions are considered vandalism by wiki standards. If you have any further questions or wish to discuss it further, you are welcome to discuss this with me, but any information-removing edits following this will receive a block as per our standard guidelines.

    • I am SockPuppet Strangler. The page makes me uncomfortable. Please leave it off. I really do not want my name associated with DC anymore. I'll even drag myself back on the forums if you want to PM me there and confirm my identity: https://forums.dragcave.net/profile/7406-sockpuppet-strangler/ It's pretty crappy to say I don't have a say in what my own dang page says. I'm not asking you to remove the page completely; I'm just asking you to respect my wishes in not leaving my self-conceited drivel up. Really none of the extra information said anything about me and the informative bits are available on other pages. If you really won't let the page by simplified, at least leave off the personal stuff. I said ages ago that I didn't want credits for the pretzel, and it's bothered me for years that it stayed on my page with my explanation of removal. Maybe that could just stay on the ToT page instead of mine? I straight up don't need the credit for it; if I had realized at the time that I could ask to be anonymous, I would have done so.

The alot information is also extraneous and, tbh, outdated.

Information you can leave on the page if you insist on not respecting my wishes: when I was modded and that I started out as a help mod.

    • I am aware of your confirmed identity. What I've been trying to explain is that that particular page is not yours, it is a page about you. Your page is User:Root toor. All personal information, such as those about the "alot" have been removed. As I made very clear, only notes for informational purposes have been left noted on the page, nothing that is personal in any way. I understand that you may have reasons why you would personally like to erase your existence, but this is a wiki, not a personal website. Whether it makes you uncomfortable or not, you contributed in certain ways to the site itself, and a wiki records this; erasure of history is not appropriate here (or most contexts for that matter). It is not personal in any way; wikis are neutral ground for information only and the information on that page is neutral.

As I also already explained regarding the credit of the pretzel, the wiki needs to have that quote shown on the page for regular operations- we cannot function correctly without it. Without that information, someone new will come along and update the page and the event page to give you full credit- something neither of us want to happen. That quote stops that from happening, and you removing it goes beyond informational removal and into affecting wiki operations. Keeping it on the event page will not help as it will be the category page that gets updated to give you credit, this is why the quote has been housed there specifically.

As I have made the wiki's reasons for keeping the information we have kept very clear, particularly the sections that affect regular operations as well as noting that personal information has been removed, I will be locking the page to prevent further edit warring and because your edits are now considered vandalism by wiki standards. I'm sorry this makes you uncomfortable, but this is a wiki, not a personal website- a wiki does not operate on feelings nor does it belong to anyone, and everything on that page is either necessary for regular function or neutral in presentation with no personal information or agenda at all. It describes you as having been a moderator, and explains why a certain category should not be added to that page as per standard operations.

  • Hi there! I saw you removed an image from a user profile under the guise of art theft. Would you be able to link me to the original artwork that this user is stealing from? Thanks!
