The Dragon Cave Wiki is managed by a local staff of moderators, administrators, and bureaucrats. Wiki staff are not "owners" or "in charge" of the wiki, but rather are editors with access to advanced tools to keep the wiki clean and running smoothly. The wiki may also be visited by global staff and volunteers, such as Spam Obliteration and Prevention (SOAP), Wiki Specialists, and Wiki Representatives.
Staff abilities[]

Administrator abilities[]
Administrators, sometimes called admins or sysops, manage the wiki's design and maintenance. They have access to the following tools:

- Grant and revoke the Rollback, Map-tester, and Discussions Moderator rights
- Edit the community's skin and format
- Edit whitelisted MediaWiki pages
Bureaucrat abilities[]
Bureaucrats have the ability to grant and revoke user rights to other users, as well as blocking and unblocking users. They can promote other users to the moderator, administrator, or bureaucrat groups, though they cannot revoke the bureaucrat group from others once it is granted. A bureaucrat can remove their own bureaucrat rights.
Wiki representative abilities[]
Wiki representatives are part-time staff members assigned to specific wikis. They are here to support the wiki's community, as well as serving as a liaison to full-time Fandom staff. Additionally, they have extended user rights on all Fandom communities.

Inactive bureaucrats and admins[]
Becoming an administrator[]
For you to become an administrator, someone with bureaucrat access must make you one. On larger wiki, there will usually be a community page for requests, with a page name such as "Dragon Cave Wiki:Requests for Adminship". On a smaller wiki, you may simply ask on the community portal or Forum, or ask a bureaucrat directly on his or her talk page.
If there are no active bureaucrats and you wish to become an administrator or adopt the wiki, please contact the community staff. If there are other active editors but no active bureaucrats/admins, you should first discuss with them on who should become an admin, whether it be one of you, or all of you.
What can administrators not do?[]
Administrators should not use their administrator powers to settle editing disputes; for example, to lock a page on a version he or she prefers in an editing dispute that isn't vandalism. Administrator powers should be used to help keep the wiki clear of vandalism, spam, and users who make malicious edits, but not for simple disagreements between users acting in good faith. Ideally an admin shouldn't be considered "in charge". The ideal admin is just someone who is trusted to have a few extra buttons and to use them for the benefit of the Fandom community.
