Official descriptions[]

Egg[]

This egg is covered in black and white stripes.

Hatchling[]

Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very playful and likes to pounce on anything that moves.

Mature hatchling[]

Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very playful and likes to pounce on anything that moves.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Adult[]

Chaliuba Dragons are a solitary species with a unique way of communicating with one another. The massive metallic plates that line their head and neck only loosely connect to their body, and as such it is easy for them to smash the plates together in order to make various different clanging and screeching sounds. It is said that threat displays between two Chaliuba Dragons can be heard for miles as they face off to prove themselves louder than the other. Despite how grating and unpleasant these dragons typically sound, those who have come across a Chaliuba attempting to woo another know that they are capable of making oddly beautiful music with these same plates.

Additional information[]

Wooo adults are out so I can give my lore dump!

Obviously mine is based on the white tiger/byakko. For the actual design, I've always really loved these creatures/statues called xiezhi. Namely the way their fur curls is pretty satisfying to me, so I thought I'd use that as another point of inspo. Lore inspo came from the steel pipe meme (and steel drums, for when they're feeling merciful) lol.

I'm sure people are wondering about the name too lol. I have two modes when naming: two words and latin mashups. This was just one of the latter, nothing particularly deep. I did briefly try doing some mashups with East Asian languages but couldn't get anything that would roll off the tongue very well.

And finally, the original sketch:
