Caihong Dragon

Caihong Dragons were released on May 21, 2024 as part of Dragon Cave's 18th Birthday celebration, alongside Archelonian Dragons, Chaliuba Dragons, Thousand Wish Dragons, and Zarafauri Dragons.

And look! It’s growing in brighter feathers and its tail is alight and starting to split. It must be close to maturing.

Adult[]

Caihong Dragons are mostly found at higher altitudes where they make their lairs in hard to reach crevasses and cliff faces. Their flaming plumage and ability to breathe fire have lead to local legends about them having been born from the sun itself. Caihong Dragons are very social and cheerful dragons, often seeking people and dragons outside their own kind to accumulate ever more diverse treasures. Avid collectors of all things shiny, Caihong lairs are filled with trinkets, pretty rocks, glinting scales and their own gorgeous rainbow-like feathers. Hatchlings learn these hoarding behaviors early, and vie to collect their own starting hoards from what their parents bring back, as well as the fun game of trading treasures with their clutch mates. It is said a Caihong never forgets the face of someone who has wronged them, and they are often associated so closely with honesty and faithfulness that adornments of their feathers can be found in places of reputable business and carried by those who emphasize good morals.
