Black dragons are one of three dragons that possess an "alt" (alternate forms of the same species). Alts are rare and only obtainable through breeding (or, of course, trading). However, there are two forms of the alt hatchlings as well-- sitting, and curled. Due to the curled alt's rarity, many collectors choose to freeze them to prove they have owned one.
