Badges, sometimes called trophies, are small sprite icons given to users in commemoration of certain events or achievements. Badges were added to the site on May 2, 2010. The first badge was as an intended fix for the Festival of Eggs basket. Badges are most commonly awarded for participation in holiday events. Occasionally, recolored versions were given to users and staff who planned said events.
Trophies[]
Trophies are awarded for raising a certain number of dragons. The first trophies were bronze, silver, and gold, awarded for raising 50, 200, and 500 dragons respectively. A platinum 1,000 dragon badge was added during Dragon Cave's 11th Birthday. These badges are also associated with certain benefits such as increased egg limits and freeze slots.

Magikarp badge[]
The Magikarp badge is the only badge earned by performing a Breed Specific Action. To earn the badge, a user must activate the Shallow Water Dragon BSA Splash 100 times. The Splash BSA is a reference to the useless Pokémon attack of the same name, which is the signature move of Magikarp.
